A little update from me…

After much thought—and a little time to reflect over the Easter break—I’ve made the decision to step away from offering day-to-day online gift bouquets. It hasn’t been an easy choice, but it’s one that will allow me to focus more fully on my true passions: wedding flowers and creative workshops.

That said, I will still be offering bespoke, made-to-order gift bouquets, and you’ll still see seasonal arrangements available around key times of the year such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Christmas. I’ll also continue to provide sustainable funeral flowers, which remain a meaningful part of what I do.

I’m genuinely blown away by the continued support from all of you—my wonderful clients and customers. Your encouragement has helped shape and grow my little business into what it is today. As things continue to grow, so too does the behind-the-scenes workload. And as well as being a florist, I’m also a mummy to my little ones—so finding a healthy balance is really important.

I’ve got some truly beautiful weddings lined up this year and am fully booked from May through September, which I’m absolutely thrilled about! There’s limited availability from October to December, and I’m now taking bookings for 2026.

Stepping back from daily online orders will give me the space and time to focus on the other floral services I love and continue to offer. I feel incredibly grateful to be able to shape The Flower Hut into the business I’ve always dreamed of.

Dreamy meadow magic in full bloom.

I've been a little quiet on here. Two weeks off of flowering and time spent with my two little ones making Easter bonnets, decorating biscuits, hunting for eggs, spring trails and a little trip away with our caravan. Ate probably too much chocolate. Ooops! Back to flowers yesterday with a lovely dinner party flower commission for a beautiful house in Goodwood yesterday. Please don’t forget! I now add little towels for when I deliver the bouquet off to my beautiful brides to set my mind at ease that I have done everything I can to remind the bride and her bridesmaids to wipe down the stems when they take them out of their vase. (It’s thirsty work being a wedding flower and I recommend they have a good drink whilst you’re getting ready as they have a big day ahead of them 🌸)

Please wipe down each stem to minimise the chance of getting sap residue on your beautiful dresses.

I suggest delegating a bridesmaid to be on towel duty. It’s a very important job! 🌸

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself on here so I thought I’d say hi to o my lovely followers and reintroduce myself. 🌸

My name is Ashton, and I am the proud founder of The Flower Hut Florist. From my garden workshop in Westergate, near Chichester in West Sussex, I create beautiful, bespoke floral arrangements with care, attention to detail, and love. My small, independent business specializes in wedding flowers, special events, sustainable funeral tributes and other floral designs, always using high-quality blooms.

When I’m not immersed in floral creations, I’m spending time with my husband and two young children Alessandra & Jasper and a mummy to our angel baby boy Sunny.

As a family, we love exploring the great outdoors and making the most of the beautiful countryside around us.

🌸Our little tuxedo cat Travis disapproves of most things we do but strangely follows us around a lot. 🐈‍⬛

🌸My favourite flower is a Bird of Paradise. The kids love it when I stick goggly eyes and Barbie sunglasses on them.

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been quiet on here. I took time off of Christmas to reset and recharge ready for the new year ahead which I am very excited for. I have some lovely weddings booked this year as well as some more workshops at the beautiful @leonardsleegardens kicking off in March (theme is all things spring!)

January - I am excited to be at @upwalthambarns’s supplier event on Saturday. After which I will be back taking orders. (Limited orders as I’m also going to be redecorating on the days my son is at Forest school)

I turned on my work phone today after switching it off over the days leading up to Christmas and after. It made my day to see the beautiful photos taken by @nicolaannphotography of K&J’s beautiful wedding day at @farbridgeevents.

The happy couple chose beautiful flowers, some dusky pinks and lilacs. It was really important to the couple that the flowers were as sustainable as possible and sourced British wherever I could, something that isn’t necessarily easy in November but I did get some beautiful British grown #alstroemeria from @crosslandsalstroemeria and Chrysanthemums from another lovely grower called Louise who I had the pleasure of meeting a few years ago on a short business course. I sourced an abundance of British pittosporum and dried bracken and the bride’s family dried their own hydrangeas and lavender. Lots of texture, scent and autumn whimsy 🍂

A joy to see these photos as I didn’t get the chance to take any photos in the morning setting up at the lovely venue. Thank you K&J for entrusting me with your beautiful wedding flowers. Your day looked so beautiful 🌸

I hope everyone has had a truly lovely Christmas. My children have been so excited and it’s been magical as always watching Christmas through their eyes. We’ve all been recovering from an array of bugs but I look forward to coming back in the New Year after a nice break, and hopefully feeling fit and healthy for 2025.

This week is my last week of work for the rest of the year! Its a busy week fulfilling final orders and I have my final wreath workshop on Sunday at the lovely @chichestercityartscentre.

I will be back flowering again at the beautiful @upwalthambarns for their supplier event in the New Year.

It is possible that I will have to stop orders at some point this week just so I can be sure I can fulfil my existing ones, but always know I will try my best to serve you if I am able to!

I can't begin to thank you all enough for all the custom and support my lovely customers have given me this year 🥰
