Hello
My name is Ashton and I am the proud founder of The Flower Hut Florist. Based from my garden workshop in Westergate near Chichester, West Sussex, every floral arrangement is designed with care, attention to detail and love. My small independent business prides itself in providing beautiful, bespoke floral designs for weddings, special events and other arrangements, using quality blooms.
When I'm not busy working and creating floral designs, then I am often found with my two little children and husband. We love the big outdoors and enjoy exploring the beautiful countryside.
My passion and flair for floral design started to show itself back in the Summer of 2016 when my husband and I tied the knot in a beautiful church. I took the decision to create my own wedding flowers.
In 2019, my husband and I were very excited to discover we were pregnant with our second born. Sadly, however, in the October we discovered at our 20wk scan that our beautiful little boy's heart had stopped beating. Although the grief of loosing a baby never goes away, "Sunny" lives on in our hearts and in everything we do, including all things flowers! I found a huge amount of therapy in flowers and creating arrangements for his little spot at the church, so much so that I promised I would turn my passion into something more. So I decided to train to become a florist with a qualified floristry lecturer who specialises in eco friendly, contemporary, vegetative and form linear designs. At Seed2Design, I have an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Creative Craft & Floristry and currently working towards my Level 3.
I believe we should all do our very best to look after our planet, therefore I try to use sustainable, eco friendly materials and methods where possible and I have made it my mission this year to no longer purchase any more oasis and only use up what I currently have in my workshop. After that I will be only using sustainable and/or reusable products.
Having only opened my business in 2023 after a very successful first Christmas designing and selling bespoke festive arrangements to friends and family, I am extremely excited for the future, and am already taking wedding bookings and you may also see me at the odd fayre and workshop from time to time. Please do say "hello", I love meeting new people as well as creating beautiful floral arrangements for clients, only ever using quality, stunning blooms.
Please do get in contact if you are looking for a florist for an up and coming event, tributes or a beautiful gift for a friend, loved one or yourself.
Please note, that after becoming aware of the thousands of funeral tributes that sadly end up in landfill, I will no longer be using oasis for my funeral tributes, instead using sustainable materials consisting of natural fibres will can be composted down and plastic bases will be re-used. I will also use natural alternatives to pleated poly ribbon.
